Immigration regularization: Why is it so important?

  • Post category:Service

For foreigners in Mexico, immigration regularization is an essential procedure to obtain legal security, tranquility and stability. Therefore, your immigration regularization process is one of our priorities. With this procedure you can normalize your situation and become a temporary resident of our country.

The Government of Mexico together with the National Institute of Migration offers a Temporary Program for Immigration Regularization (PTRM) that benefits those foreigners who have entered the country and have not yet been able to normalize their situation. This temporary initiative is mainly related to the fact that our country -unlike most of the region- did not close its borders in recent times.

Among the legal administrative services that we offer in Extranjería México, we can manage your regularization through this temporary program in a safe, transparent and reliable way.

What benefits does the Temporary Immigration Regularization Program offer?

Immigration regularization offers countless benefits to foreigners in Mexico to continue in the country on a regular basis and have access to public and private services proving your stay status.

Some of the main benefits of normalizing your situation together with the Temporary Immigration Regularization Program are:

  • Live in the country as a temporary resident in Mexico for a period of up to four years.
  • Have the opportunity to be a resident in Mexico.
  • Request to change from temporary resident to permanent resident in Mexico once the four years have elapsed.
  • Request your right to family unity, in accordance with the provisions of the Mexican Migration Law.
  • Avoid renewals, since during the four years after the regularization you will not have to do any procedure to renew your status as a temporary resident in Mexico.
  • Not to be presented or housed in Migratory Stations.
